Object to Fidelity investing in companies that help to fund the genocide
Here's how to contact Fidelity to register your objection:
- Email - Email provides a good audit trail of your message to Fidelity and makes it easy for Fidelity to get a message back to you. See the instructions on the home page for directions on emailing Fidelity.
- US mail - Address your Fidelity complaint to Anne Crowley, Senior Vice
President, Media Relations and Public Affairs, 82 Devonshire Street,
Boston, MA 02109.
- Phone -Call Fidelity at 617-563-7000 and ask for the "executive office."
- If you are a student and not a Fidelity investor, here's a sample script:
I am a student. Fidelity has taken the first steps to get out of Sudan, but must do more. I am deeply disappointed that Fidelity is continuing to make large investments in the Sudan oil industry which serves to help fund the genocide in Darfur. I urge Fidelity to completely divest the PetroChina and Sinopec stocks now held by your mutual funds. I may not have investments of my own today, but I will discuss the issue with my family and ask them to act. Fidelity's actions will have a negative impact on my future consideration of using Fidelity's services, extending long after any short term benefits you gain from PetroChina and Sinopec are forgotten. - If you are not a Fidelity investor, here's a sample script:
I am a concerned citizen. Fidelity has taken the first steps to get out of Sudan, but must do more.
